Investigation of the effect of a radio-transparent fairing on the characteristics of multi-element radio engineering systems
Abstract
In this paper, by computer simulation of the finite fragment method, its accuracy characteristics are investigated when evaluating the effect of a radio-transparent fairing on the characteristics of a multi-element radio engineering system of plane-parallel waveguides during scanning. For a differentiated assessment of the impact of errors, a computer program for a mathematical model of a limited fragment of a radio engineering system has been developed. The influence of the dimension of a fragment of a radio engineering system on the accuracy of the simulated characteristics of multi-element systems, including as part of a radio-transparent fairing, has been evaluated. The possibility of applying asymptotic regularities to extrapolate the coefficients of mutual coupling of a fragment of a radio engineering system with a small number of elements to a fragment of a large dimension is considered. Recommendations have been developed on the choice of fragment sizes to obtain optimal accuracy of the simulated characteristics of multi-element radio engineering systems, including as part of a radio-transparent fairing.
